David Shelton Play

The David Shelton Award is given to a full-length student written play.

Fittingly, the award is named after David Shelton, who is retired and living in Indiana. David taught acting, directing, and playwriting at the University of Florida in the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. As his students attest, David was a strong influence and important advocate for their work.

A full-length play is longer than one hour in playing time.

NOTE: Full-length plays must also be submitted directly to Gregg Henry at the National Office.

Submissions are due by December 1
