FAQs About Georgia Southern

  1. Is there parking on campus?
    Yes! All drivers can pick up a parking pass at registration. Lot 30, outside of the Performing Arts Center and the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center is held for Festival Participants during the day. Large buses may have to be parked by the football stadium but we will have golf cart shuttles to bring the drivers back to the PAC. After 4pm and on Saturday parking is open all over campus.
  2. Can you walk to festival locations?
    Once on campus yes, everything is within an easy walking distance – 5 to 10 minutes. Signs and volunteers will be around to point you the right direction. It is not advisable to walk from the conference hotels although the distance is not great. For most of the hotels you will be crossing a major By-Pass with no sidewalks. But, the campus is within 2 or 3 miles of all hotels. Some hotels are right across the street from the campus but are not offering discounts.
  3. Will there be shuttles?
    Yes, but at limited service since there is available parking on campus. We will run a shuttle from the PAC to the conference hotels once an hour from 8am to 5pm and immediately following evening performances. Special shuttles will be set up for events like the kickoff party Wednesday at the Clubhouse and the student party on Saturday night at the Spring Hill Suites conference center.
  4. Can you walk to restaurants?
    Yes – there are restaurants along the perimeter of campus that are an easy walk. On campus there is a Starbucks and Chikfila in the student union. There are two dining halls open to visitors; Lakeside in the heart of campus and The Dining Commons by the bookstore. In addition check out Market Street Deli in the IT building. Especially the freshly made bagel chips. In addition there are several restaurants a short drive from campus or hotels. Check your registration packets for coupons!
  5. Can you smoke on campus?
    No, Georgia Southern is a smoke free campus.
