Festival 52 – Good Things To Know

Here are a few tips and nuggets of info to help you make the best of your festival time!

  1. Stay safe, take care of each other. Travel in partners or packs, if you have a friend who may have had too much to drink take them home.  You are here under the rules of your home institution and any issues will be reported to your college or university. So have fun, but stay safe.
  2. Performances are ticketed this year, so make sure you get your tickets ahead of time. At 10 till house opening unclaimed tickets will be released to student rush.  Keep in mind that each show is being preformed twice, a matinee and an evening so make sure to get to one of the shows and support your fellow actors and production teams. If you do not get into the evening show there are alternative options. On Wednesday we will host a Dangerous Theatre – anyone can sign up to do a stand up comedy routine, sing, do improv, or even a scene or a monologue. 8:30 pm in the Tukey theatre. On Thursday and Friday we are opening up the Tukey stage for all of you who want to present their Ryan auditions or their MTI auditions to a wonderful audience. A time to show off your stuff one more time!
  3. Announcements of Ryan, SDC, MTI, and SM semifinalists and finalists will be posted on the Facebook page, the web page and in the lobby of the HPAC. If you are a semifinalist or finalist you will also get an email from the planning team.
  4. Shuttles will run from the outlying hotels to campus on a regular schedule. Schedule is here
  5. DTM awards will happen on Friday night after the performance. Design, Tech and management students will have tickets held for them and handed out at the DTM desk.
  6. The finale of the festival will take place at the Twitchell Theatre on the Converse campus, Saturday at 8:30 pm. MTI, RYANS, ASPIRE, DRAMATURGY, SDCS, AND NPPs will be presented at the Gala.
  7. The festival schedule is online. Please download it to your phone, updates and changes will be posted there as well as in the lobby of the HPAC.

Maps, etc

Campus and downtown maps are available here

Please note that there is a very limited time drive up to the CLC (green on the map) building where DTM participants can park and drop off their display materials. Do not stay parked the entire time you are setting up your display.  Drop off, move your car and come back for set up.
