KCACTF Region 4 Announcements!

Hello!

General and Festival Announcements below!

General Announcements:

  • As you know, I forwarded you an email on July 29th that details the budget cuts the National KCACTF Office will endure this fiscal year. As a result of those budget cuts, National Teaching Artist Grants and Faculty Fellows to the National Festival will not be awarded this year.

o   However, we will award Regional Teaching Artists at our Regional Festival. The process for nomination is on the website at http://kcactf4.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Regional-Teaching-Artist-Criteria.pdf.The deadline for nominations is October 30, 2011.

  • Again, as announced in the email from Gregg Henry sent on July 29th, because of those budget cuts, the National Festival will not be inviting full productions from the Regional Festivals. Instead, those productions invited to the regional festivals will be eligible for national recognition and acclaim with awards in the following categories (this list may be amended at the discretion of the National Committee following the Regional Festivals):

Outstanding Production of a Play, a Musical, a Classic, a New Play

Outstanding Scenic, Costume, Lighting and Sound Design

Outstanding Choreography

Outstanding Direction of a Play, of a Musical

Outstanding Direction of a Premiere of a New Play

Outstanding Performances by an Actress and Actor in Leading and Supporting Roles

And Others [or fewer] as circumstances warrant

o   Award recipients will be chosen by members of the Executive Committee, in consultation with invited former members of the National Selection Teams, the Artistic Director of KCACTF, and visiting members of the National Committee in residence at the Regional Festivals.  Only individuals external to the Region will be included in the deliberations regarding that particular region.
